Record2Text
Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 2, 2026 | 日本語

1. Introduction

This policy describes how Takemura Tech Lab ("we") handles user information in the iOS app "Record2Text: AI Transcription" (the "App"). Matters not covered here follow the Takemura Tech Lab Privacy Policy.

2. Your recordings (not kept in the cloud)

Your audio recordings are stored only on your iPhone.

  • Audio is sent to our server temporarily, only to create the transcript and summary.
  • Audio sent to our server is deleted from the server immediately after processing finishes, whether processing succeeds or fails. As a safeguard, any audio that is not deleted for some reason is automatically deleted within one day.
  • Audio files on your device are stored in an encrypted area and are excluded from iCloud backup. They are erased when you delete a recording in the App or delete the App (they are not transferred to a new device).
  • Playback uses the audio file on your device.

3. Information we collect and why

  • Transcripts and summaries: stored on our server so they can be displayed and retrieved.
  • Device identifier: an ID the App generates for each device, used to manage remaining minutes and prevent abuse.
  • Sign in with Apple: if you sign in, the user identifier provided by Apple and your email address and name (if provided), used to share remaining minutes across devices.
  • Purchase information: transaction information for minute purchases, used to apply your purchase. Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive payment details such as credit card numbers.
  • Error information: details of errors that occur during processing, used to investigate and fix problems. This also applies to emails you send from the feedback and bug report menu in the App.
  • Advertising information: to show ads, the ad provider (Google AdMob) may collect device information.

4. Third-party services

The App uses the following services for the purposes above and sends information only as needed. These providers act on our behalf and handle information under their own privacy policies.

  • Google Cloud (server processing, temporary audio storage, storage of transcripts and summaries, transcription and summarization with Gemini)
  • OpenAI (transcription and summarization). Data sent to the OpenAI API is not used to train OpenAI models.
  • Google AdMob (advertising)
  • Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store payments)

Transcription and summarization use either Google Cloud (Gemini) or OpenAI. Under their terms, these AI providers may retain submitted data for a limited period, for example for abuse monitoring.

5. Retention

  • Audio: deleted from our server immediately after processing (within one day at the latest). On your device, it is kept until you delete it.
  • Transcripts and summaries: deleted from our server when you delete the recording in the App, or when you delete your account.
  • Other information: kept as long as needed to provide the service, and deleted on request.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not share your information with third parties without your consent, except as required by law. Sending data to the services in Section 4 is done on our behalf to provide the App's features.

7. Your choices

  • You can change microphone access at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
  • You can delete recordings and transcripts from the list in the App at any time.
  • If you signed in with Apple, you can delete your account from the App.
